Gary Mann is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his surgical training at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine Affiliated hospitals. He also trained in Emergency Medicine and has been practicing Emergency Medicine full-time at the Ajax and Pickering Hospital for the past 38 years; he has been the program chief for the last 14 years. Gary and his family live in Thornhill, Ontario and belong to Temple Emanu-El in Toronto where he serves on the board and has been a member of the choir for the past 50 years. His wife Sarah, originally from Israel, and their three children have spent many summers in Israel where Gary is very closely affiliated with the budding Emergency Medicine Program there. Having served in the IDF Nachal Brigade himself, both of Gary’s sons also served in the IDF Nachal Brigade. Both Gary and Sarah have taken the Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Course twice and thoroughly enjoyed it, recommending it to many of Gary’s colleagues. One of Gary’s goals is to grow the presence of APF in Canada and specifically in Ontario.
