Currently, there is no training program for neuroinfectious diseases in Israel. But with the help of APF, Dr. Yair Mina, a senior staff member at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center’s Neurological Institute, will advance his skills and increase his knowledge base in that field. Dr. Mina has been accepted for a distinguished fellowship program at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. When Dr. Mina, his wife and their two children return to Israel, he plans to establish a system for the clinical management of patients with neurological complications from HIV and other neuroinfectious diseases.
