The American Healthcare Professionals and Friends for Medicine in Israel (APF) is a nonprofit organization of U.S. and Canadian healthcare professionals united by a single mission: ensuring Israel’s emergency preparedness and empowering Israeli providers to train at the forefront of medicine in North America.
Because APF is independent of any single medical institution, we serve a wide range of hospitals, clinics, and programs across Israel. This independence has allowed us to cultivate deep, trusted relationships with both the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Medical Corps of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) — relationships built over more than seven decades of service.
Since 1950
APF is the only organization designated by the State of Israel to maintain this registry. In a declared national crisis, our volunteers are deployed to civilian hospitals to provide immediate medical support.
Travel grants support Israeli physicians at international conferences. Special oncology fellowships and the Solomon Hirsh Nursing Awards send Israeli nurses to leading North American institutions to learn and bring back transformative techniques.
