Dr. Ran Abuhasira is undertaking a research fellowship in the United States to gain advanced expertise in multi-omics data integration and translational research—capabilities that are essential to modern precision medicine and are currently limited in scale and infrastructure in Israel.
By conducting his fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School under the mentorship of Dr. Hyon Choi, Dr. Abuhasira will have access to world-class proteomics platforms, advanced bioinformatics resources, and a uniquely collaborative research environment that brings together clinicians, data scientists, and molecular biologists. This setting enables the translation of complex multi-omics data into clinically actionable insights—an opportunity available only at a small number of leading U.S. institutions.
This fellowship will equip Dr. Abuhasira with both the technical expertise and the leadership experience required to build and guide large-scale translational research programs. Upon his return to Israel, he will lead the Clinical Research Center at Soroka University Medical Center, where he will apply these advanced methodologies to accelerate discovery, improve patient stratification, and support the development of personalized treatments.
