Norton J. Greenberger received his B.A. degree from Yale University; his MD degree from Case Western Reserve University and did his residency in internal medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland and fellowship training in gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He has been the director of the gastroenterology division at the Ohio State University (1967-1972), Chairman of the dept. of Medicine at the University of Kansas (1972-2000), and is currently Clinical Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Senior Physician at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. He is the author or co-author of over 300 publications including original scientific articles, book chapters, and textbooks. He has received numerous awards for distinguished teaching, most recently a distinguished teaching award from Brigham & Women’s Hospital. He has served on the APF board of directors since 1994 and is a former President and currently is the Treasurer.
